Busy day today
Had speech therapy today and later met with another therapist for my temper tantrums. Busy day, but I had fun. Tomorrow I go to preschool again while Taylor, the golden retriever, is at the vet for an exam, teeth cleaning and shots.
[Hatte Sprachtherapie heute und habe am Nachmittag die Therapeutin fuer meine Wutanfaelle getroffen. Hatte aber Spass. Morgen geht's wieder in die Vorschule waehrend Taylor beim Tierarzt die jaehrliche Untersuchung, Impfungen und Zahnreinigung bekommt.]

First speech class at the elementary school
I had my first new speech class today since I turned 3. It is at the local elementary school. Going there twice a week. I freaked out a little bit in the beginning (mom's have to stay outside) but the teacher told later that I behaved VERY well and listed. The teacher does not know that I'm only doing that at the class, not at home ;)
[Ich hatte heute meine erste neue Sprachtherapieklasse im Kindergarten. Der Kindergarten hat Therapisten fuer diese Klassen...ich gehe ja noch zur Vorschule. Ich muss dort 2mal in der Woche hin. Ich habe geweint da Mom draussen warten musste. Die Lehrerin hat spaeter gesagt, dass ich mich sehr gut verhalten habe und zuhoere. Die weiss nicht dass ich das nur in der Klasse mache und nicht zu Hause ;) ]

I'm 3 today !!
Great long weekend. Gifts already on the weekend - more today, Kidsville yesterday, Preschool party (and Valentine's) and Pretend City in Irvine planned for tomorrow. Happy Birthday!

Latest speech assessment at age 2 years, 11 months - German
Hier sind die Ergebnisse des letzten Sprachgutachtens:
1) Auffassungsgabe: ueberdurchschnittlich
2) Ausdrucksfaehigkeit: unterdurchschnittlich
Ich verstehe Fuerwoerter, negatives in Saetzen, Deduktion, verstehe Bildvergleiche und 'mehr' und 'meistens'. Ich kann verschiedene Objekte benennen, Plural und quantitiative Konzepte benutzen. Habe Schwierigkeiten 'Was' und 'Wo' Fragen zu beantworten sowie zu erklaeren, wie in Object zu benutzen ist. Ich benutze ueberwiegend 1-2 Woerter. Weitere Klassen sollen sich auf Semantik, Satzlaenge, Komplexitaet und Aussprache konzentrieren.
Ich bin an Buecher interessiert und kenne Formen und einige Farben. Benuzte Malstifte und kann bis 5 zaehlen. Ich spiele gut mit anderen Kindern, bin aber oefters agressiv und habe schlechte laune. Ich kann rennen, treten, springen. Gehoer und Augen sind ok. Folge einfachen Instruktionen und helfe beim Aufraeumen. Ich helfe bein anziehen und esse mit Messer und Gabel.
Ich werde bald die Klassen in der Schule anfangen, 2 Mal in der Woche.

1) Auditory comprehension: above average (90th percentile for my age group)
2) Expressive communication: below average (23rd percentile for my age group)
I'm able to understand pronouns, understand negatives in sentences, make inferences, understand picture analogies and understand 'more' and 'most'. Expressively, I am able to name a variety of pictured objects, use plurals, and use quantity concepts. I have difficulties answering 'what' and 'where' questions, using the -ing verb and telling how an object is used. My speech intelligibility is about 50% in connected speech to an unfamiliar listener compared to peers at 70%. I use mostly 1 - 2 words to communicate. They suggest to focus on semantics, sentence length, complexity and phonology. I'm interested in books and attend to a story. I know my shapes and some colors. Can scribble with a crayon/pencil and can count to 5. Play well with other children. Able to run, kick, jump and manipulate small objects with my hands. Enjoy playing with peers but sometimes get aggressive. I have a temper at times. Hearing and vision are fine. I follow simple instructions and help around the house by picking up toys. I assist with dressing and eat with spoon and fork.
