Happy New Year - My first New Year's Eve

This is my first New Year's Eve. Well, I slept through it. But there is not much to see anyway. There are no big fireworks as people in Germany have. However, Happy New Year !

Wild Animal Park

We all went to the Wild Animal Park today. I had a lot of fun with the animals and the winter light show. I really like the gorilla. It was also the first time for me to play on grass :) Check out the album for pictures and videos!

Email from my grandparents in Germany

Got an email from my grandparents in Germany with an ecard. Now, I know what an ecard is. They wish me well...I'm still a little bit sick, but already a lot better now.

I don't like 'NO'

My parents started to tell me 'no' to discipline me. I hate that. I want to play with the live plants and eat the dry wall. I usually cry for a while then they tell me 'no' but that does not seem to change their mind.

[Meine Eltern sind angefangen mich zu disziplinieren und sagen 'Nein'. Ich mag das garnicht. Ich will mit den Pflanzen spielen und die Farbe von der Wand kratzen. Ich antworte auf das 'Nein' normalerweise mit schreien, was aber anscheinend keine Auswirkung auf meine Eltern hat...sie aendern ihre Meinung nicht.]

First pasta and french fry

Today, I had my first piece of pasta and soft french fry at the restaurant. Tasted ok. Not much meal for the $ though (Mimi's Cafe).

Don't like rain

It's raining hard again and I went outside with daddy. I got the rain into my face. Don't like it at all. Are we in southern California or what?? It should NOT rain!

I love Christmas :)

I had my first Christmas tonight and love it. All the nice gifts. Thank you grandma Marianne, grandpa Horst for the nice presents from Germany. Also, Lynn and Don for for the train and PDA. And also grandma Faye, grandpa Jim,  aunt Joanne and her family and Stephen for their gifts. Now, I'm tired from all the playing. Tomorrow is a new day.

Love dogs

I love the dogs more and more and try to get to them whenever I can. I crawl to them and try to kiss and hug them.

I LOVE buttons. I try to get the remote controls or push the buttons on the VCR. What can I tell you, I'm a boy.

Moving sideways

I can now not only stand, but I also move sideways along the couch. It is difficult to synchronize the legs to move. I'm still falling a lot...but get up and try again.

[Ich kann jetzt nicht nur stehen, sondern mich auch seitlich entlang der Couch bewegen. Es ist schwer die Beine zu kontrollieren aber ich lerne.]

Trip to Pasadena

Last weekend we drove up to Pasadena to visit aunt Judy. It was Danny's birthday too. The drive was realllly long, I don't like that. But I had a lot of fun there. She has 2 dogs too :)

[Letztes Wochenende waren wir in Pasadena und haben Tante Judy besucht. Es war auch Danny's Geburtstag. Die Autofahrt war seeeehr lang (2.5 Stunden). Das mochte ich nicht. Aber ich hatte dort viel Spass. Sie hat auch 2 Hunde :)]

 

No MyGym this week

I don't think we will go to MyGym this week. I'm still sick and then there is Christmas. Well, next week. I have enough fun with my parents and the dogs.

Home made chicken soup

Daddy made home made chicken soup yesterday....as we are all sick. Smelled good !
He also made Gluehwein...but I could not get a taste of that :(

Health status

Quick update: I still have a congested nose (lots of mucus) and some cough...I hate having a cold...but right now, everybody is sick. It is raining too today.

I had my 10 months birthday yesterday and I got some toys. I think these are also my Christmas presents at the same time. Look what I got ! The first one is to learn the alphabet and phonics. Cool!

24 pounds

Went to the pediatrician today. No shots though :) Just a checkup. I'm 24 pounds, 30 inches tall. Everything is OK. SUPER!

We're all sick

Coughing

I'm coughing and don't feel good. This is the downside of playing with other babies and toddlers at the MyGym....mom told me.
I'm now eating self made veggies...mashed of course. A little more to chew though.

The dogs were chewing on Mr. Banana's legs and destroyed them. To save Mr. Banana, daddy performed an emergency amputation. Thanks daddy! Mr. Banana is doing well considering the circumstances.

I love doors and drawers. They are fascinating. I try to find doors when I'm crawling and want to hit, open and close them. That is a lot of fun.

Lowered the mattress in the crib

Since I can now stand in the crib, daddy lowered the mattress in the crib. It is saver now..in case I try to stand again.

[Da ich jetzt in der Krippe stehen kann, hat Dad die Matrazze in der Krippe abgesenkt. Das ist sicherer...falls ich mich wieder entscheide aufzustehen.]

I started cuddling with a teddy in the crib. It's the little blue dog. I love hugging him and falling asleep with him in my arms.

My first rain

It has been raining here on and off for the last 2 days. My first rain. I have not yet understood what it is though. I will have my 'real' first rain encounter later when I actually get soaked.

I have my smell back...

I have my baby smell back. I smell sweet like as a newborn. I thought I lost that smell - I guess the bath took it away. Daddy is smelling me again all the time...like when I was a newborn.

We all had a lot of fun today at aunt Joanne's house for Thankgsiving. Saw my grandparents again and all the kids :)

Today we went again to the MyGym. Had a lot of fun. One day I will run with the others through the room. Promise! After that we had lunch at a Greek restaurant. I watched my parents eat Greek food, while I had ... formula. Something is wrong with that picture.

Michael's birthday party

My Gym = My Germs

I got a cold from going to the 'my gym'. Something/body there gave me a cold. Last night my nose got congested and I'm not that hungry today. Napped over 2 hours. Now I feel a little bit better and we will go for a walk with the dogs to the duck park.

Went with mom to 'My Gym', the children's fitness center today. We sang, used the trampoline and swings. I had a LOT of fun. We will go again next Friday. After the gym, we went to the Olive Garden for some good food ;)

We all went to the mall yesterday. We bought some new outfits for me (I'm growing fast). I also got my first taste of Tofu, little green tea ice and egg. I don't know yet how to eat more solid food, but will learn. I did not like the green tea ice cream at all...it is too cold.

[Waren gestern alle in der Mall und haben mir einige Shirts, Hosen und Pyjamas gekauft. Ich wachse schnell. Ich habe auch mein erstes Tofu, Gruener Tee Eiscreme, und Ei gegessen. Ich weiss noch nicht so recht wie ich feste Nahrung essen muss, aber ich lerne. Die Eiscreme mochte ich garnicht, viel zu kalt.]

Falling back or springing ahead?

Somebody told me that we switch the times again tonight. Savings time? Who is saving? Who came up with changing the clocks and confusing the entire country? 1 hour ahead? back? Will it be dark earlier..or later? Why? And why are some states not doing it? Did I wake up today at 7am? Or is it really 6am?
Well, I leave it up to daddy to change all the clocks.

[Jemand muss mir erklaeren warum wir auf die Winterzeit umstellen. We ist mit dieser Idee angefangen? Eine Stunde vor...oder zurueck...wird es jetzt eine Stunde frueher oder spaeter dunkel? Bin ich heute um 7 oder 6 aufgewacht? Und warum stellen nicht alle 50 Staaten auf die Winterzeit um?
Wie auch immer, Ich ueberlasse es Daddy alle Uhren umzustellen.]

Daddy's Shift

It was daddy's shift last night and I did not sleep good :( I woke up at 1:30am screaming. I had a bad dream. He rocked me and I crashed. Did not need a bottle. Thanks daddy!
Then I heard a car alarm at 5am. Somebody needs to ban those stupid car alarms.
Now, 7:00am, I am awake again...

[Daddy hatte die Nachtschicht und ich habe nicht gut geschlafen. Bin um 1:30 aufgewacht. Alptraum. Daddy hat mich in den Arm genommen und ich bin schnell wieder eingeschlafen. Ich brauchte keine Flasche.
Dann um 5am ein Autoalarm. Jemand sollte dies dummen Autoalarme verbieten.
Jetzt, 7 Uhr, bin ich wieder wach...]
