Another speech therapy assessment - Kaiser

Had another speech assessment, this time by my Kaiser insurance. There is sooo much red tape and assessements, that I'm wondering when the REAL therapy will start. Anyway....I improved over the last assessment some weeks ago and I'm very adaptable, the tester said. I warmed up to her fast. Was kinda fun.

[Hatte wieder eine Sprachbeurteilung. Diesmal von meiner Gesundheitsversicherung. Es gibt so viel Papierkram und Gutachten, dass ich mich frage wann die WIRLICHE Therapie anfaengt. Wie auch immer....ich habe mich gegenueber der anderen Beurteilung von vor einigen Wochen verbessert. Und ich bin sehr anpassungsfaehig hat die Testerin gesagt. Ich hatte mit ihr viel Spass.]

This weeks sign language signs - Zeichensprache

We can only focus on 5 signs a time...for the next ~2 weeks we will do: eat, drink, shoe, train and book.

[Wir koennen nur 5 Zeichen gleichzeitig lernen. Fuer die naechsten 2 Wochen werden es sein: essen, trinken, Schuh, Eisenbahn und Buch.

Went to my first hearing test and everything is perfect.

I like to hug and put my arms around the neck. And then I kiss ;)

[Ich umarme meine Eltern haeufig und lege meine Arme um deren Nacken...und kann kuesse ich sie ;) ]

What is this?

I started pointing at things so my parents can tell me what it is. For example, I point to the blanket, crip etc.

[Ich bin angefangen auf Dinge zu zeigen, damit meine Eltern mir sagen koennen was es ist. Z.B. Decke, Krippe etc.]

Stephen came over tonight and we had a lot of fun as you can see.

Cat !

I added 'Cat' to my vocabulary. I say 'Ca' and point to a picture of a cat. The T is still missing.

[Ich habe 'Katze' zu meinem Wortschatz hinzugefuegt. Kommt mir aber noch nicht so richtig ueber die Lippen.]

Getting into the signing

Today, I used the sign for 'more' when I was hungry. That was the first time I actually used a sign to communicate. We're getting there....be patient mom, dad.

Heute habe ich zum ersten Mal das Zeichen fuer 'mehr' benutzt als ich hungrig war. Ein Meilenstein :)

Speech therapist

Today, the intake guy came to discuss the plan for the speech therapy. And we went over the assessment. In short, I under-perform in the language assessment (expression; I'm good in comprehension) and a little bit in the fine-motor skills. Otherwise I'm ok. We went over the plan, what to do next and set goals.
My parents are still going to the C3 classes with this other organization to learn the exercises and sign language. At the same time I have improved in the last 2 weeks too.

[Heute war der Sprachtherapist hier um den Report zu besprechen und einen Plan zu erarbeiten. Ich liege in der Sprache zurueck und etwas in der Feinmotorik. Sonst aber alles ok.
Meine Eltern gehen noch immer zu einer Klasse um Sprachuebungen und Zeichensprache zu lernen. Ich habe mich aber auch selbst in den letzten 2 Wochen verbessert.]

Pants again

It's time to wear pants again. The thermometer dropped to 65 degrees. It's bitter cold. ;)

[Es ist wieder Zeit Hosen zu tragen. Das Thermometer ist auf 18 Grad heruntergegangen. Es ist bitter kalt ;) ]

I was at aunt Joanne while my parents went to the speech therapy class to learn more about how to help me with my speech. I had fun.

[Ich war bei Tante Joanne heute als meine Eltern in der Sprachtherapie Klasse waren. Ich hatte viel Spass.]
